Raj is a Senior Associate advising on all aspects on planning and environmental law. Raj qualified in 2018 and joined Clyde & Co in 2019.

Raj has a broad range of expertise and acts for private and public sector clients. Her planning law expertise covers core planning development under the Town and Country Planning Act, and she has also advised on specialist infrastructure projects under the Planning Act 2008 (NSIPs). Raj also advises on complex strategic development projects covering a range of sectors, including residential, commercial, retail and mixed-use, marine and industrial sectors. On the contentious side, her experience includes judicial review and planning appeals.

Raj has considerable experience in drafting and negotiating section 106 agreements and highways agreements, and regularly advises on environmental impact assessments, certificates of lawfulness, compulsory purchase and enforcement matters.

Experience
  • Advising clients on major infrastructure projects, including advice on the process and applications for Development Consent Orders for Nationally Significant Infrastructure Projects under the Planning Act 2008. This includes acting on behalf of Oikos Storage Ltd in relation to the Oikos Marine and South Side Development.
  • Advising in respect of the allocation of a 262 hectares Garden Village to deliver up to 3,700 homes, over 50,000sqm of commercial space, care homes, and associated infrastructure.
  • Advising on a comprehensive urban mixed-use regeneration project of 90,000sqm  in the London Borough of Redbridge.
  • Advising Connected Living London on two of its proposals for residential-led mixed-use urban developments delivering over 500 homes across London.
  • Assisting with inquiry for the proposed Queen Elizabeth II landmark sculpture, 'Ascendant', near the Northumberland National Park.
  • Assisting and advising in respect of a full application for a residential-led development next to a Grade II* Listed Building.
  • Advising clients in connection with CPO proceedings before the Upper Tribunal (Lands Chamber).
