Julie-Anne has senior administrative, governance and research experience at international levels in complex project management (including Public/Private Partnering, Alliances) and around strategic planning, contracting, risk management, commercialisation and dispute resolution.

Over the course of her career, Julie-Anne has held senior appointments in universities and commercial enterprises in Australia, the United States and the South Pacific, including in law reform, commercial development and project management.

Julie-Anne has authored seven books and legal treatises in the fields of emerging technologies, insurance, consumer protection and contracting; 90+ peer reviewed articles, book chapters, law reform reports and submissions; held Directorships of commercial and government Boards; and worked extensively as a consultant in the private commercial sector.

In addition to her role as a Senior Consultant at Clyde & Co, she is also a Professor of Commercial Law, Business & Law School at Queensland University of Technology where she leads the Law & Regulation section including commercial, finance and regulatory reform programs & initiatives.

Julie-Anne has served as a Director on an Australian government Primary Health Network Board and as a Director on a Queensland State Hospital and Health Service Board. 

Julie-Anne holds the degrees BA (University of Wisconsin–Madison), JD (Cornell University), LLM (Monash University), PhD (University of Queensland).
