Michelle specialises in coverage advice on insurance and reinsurance contracts and has acted for the Lloyd's syndicates and company insurance markets since 2000, across a broad range of sectors.  

She has particular expertise in Products, Sports Accident & Health, Contingency and Special Risks sectors, with considerable experience in PA, sports insurance, bloodstock, event cancellation, entertainment/cast insurance, kidnap & ransom and travel insurance/reinsurance.

Michelle acts in a wide variety of claims from high value, high profile risks, including international arbitration or confidential and commercially sensitive settlements, to consumer regulatory issues.  She has extensive experience of fraudulent claims. 

Michelle's practice includes drafting policy wording/proposal forms and associated binding authority agreements as well as sector specific regulatory advice, particularly in relation to cyber extortion, ransom payments and contract protection.

  • Representing the market in relation to music festival cancellations regarding the application of Communicable Disease Exclusions and narrow extensions including at successful mediation
  • Representing insurers regarding the impact of Covid-19 on filming of various productions and safe working practices having regard to Civil Authority Extensions and Immediate Peril Extensions
