Independent Inquiry into Child Sexual Abuse in England & Wales

Five weeks ago the Independent Inquiry into Child Sexual Abuse in England & Wales published its concluding report with 20 recommendations.

Most require Government action to progress and the Government has said that it will consider the recommendations and respond within the next six months. The recommendations now made are in addition to those made in the interim reports, some of which have been actioned and some of which remain outstanding. From the perspective of organisations and insurers seeking to predict future claims and associated costs the recommendations regarding changes to the law on limitation and the proposal for a national redress scheme are critical.

These have been covered in depth by Alastair Gillespie and Sharon Moohan in six blogs published over the last five weeks.
